Data Protection

At Three Phase Contractors we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Three Phase Contractors are registered as a data controller with the Office of the Information Commissioner.

The Data Protection Act has rules which organisations must adhere to and to enforce the rules an Information Commissioner is assigned to make sure companies who hold information about customers must follow these rules.

We will ensure no personal or sensitive data is given to third parties and we will only use sensitive data when given your explicit consent.

The Data Protection Act gives rights to people who have personal data stored about them so if a person finds an organisation misusing their information, they can complain to the Information Commissioner and also have the right to compensation if information is inaccurate, lost or disclosed.

Your Rights

Under the Act, Three Phase Contractors must let you know what information is held about you, whether it is on computers or on paper. Three Phase Contractors are allowed to withhold certain information from you, for example:

• If it could identify someone else who does not want to be identified
• If you are being investigated for a crime
• If you want to access the records of your deceased relative

Companies' Responsibilities

Under the Act, anyone who processes personal information must make sure that the information is:

• Adequate, relevant and not excessive
• Processed fairly and lawfully
• Obtained only for one or more specified and lawful purposes and shall not be further processed in any manner incompatible with that purpose
• Accurate and up to date
• Processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under this act
• Not kept for longer than is necessary
• Secure, measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data
• Not transferred to other countries without adequate protection

Information received may be used as marketing tools by phone, post or email. Customers have the right to stop these marketing methods by opting out of the marketing methods.
